Hi there, my name is Jack Walsh, and I specialise in gig photography and promo shoots. My goal is simple. I want to showcase your unique musical talents. I believe that everyone should have the right to see the hard work and dedication you put into every gig or shoot. I am currently looking to enhance my portfolio and build new experiences with bands across the north-west region.
How I Got Into Music Photography
I have always been a musician and watching bands live has always been my favourite past time. So pretty much every gig I went to I always managed to get a couple photos of the bands performing, in which I’d then upload for others to view and comment on. Since then I have photographed in places including Manchester Academy 1, Sound Control, King George’s Hall and The Napier.
My photos have also been used by the Manchester publication Louder Than War for a recent article about the band Holy Matrimony. A link to that can be found here.
Skills and Equipment
I have experience in the programs Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Illustrator. I use both Photoshop and Lightroom on a regular basis for my photography.
My current equipment consists of the Canon 70d Body, Canon 50mm 1.8 lens and the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 Lens.
